Determined to ride!

This is my poor neglected dirt bike :(. I decided it was time to take it out for a spin out in the field located behind our house. So, I squeezed into my mx gear (I only had minor muffin top, which is pretty good considering I have had the gear since 2002!) and headed to the garage to fire her up only to find a flat tire...damn!

There was no way I was going to load it in my truck and take it to a gas station to fill the tires! I was just about to give up, but remembered we have a tiny pump for our mt. bikes. I didn't think it would work, but grabbed it anyway. After pumping for what seemed like forever and sweating my butt off in our hot garage in all my gear I finally got her ready to ride!

All that determination took me out for all of about 20 minutes before I got hot, tired, and thirsty. Oh well, at least it was something to do! Yes, this post is a product of my Sunday boredom!

MOAB! 7th annual NWS party!

Whoa, what a weekend! Didn't get to climb any towers this year, but it was still a good weekend! This is Castle Valley where we camp every year. It is about 20 miles outside of Moab. I climbed Castleton Tower (the one on the right) last year. There are pics from that...go to my very first post ever (March 2008) if you are interested in seeing them!

Veronica and baby Jasmine. Doesn't that backdrop look fake? Such a gorgeous area!

On Saturday we hiked to Delicate Arch w/ Cory, Veronica, and baby Jasmine.

Jess looks like he has a comb over in this pic!

This is Tom. He lives in CO, so we hardly ever get to see him. We meet up in Moab every September to celebrate his b-day. Holy crap, I have a HUGE tounge!
Isaac, Corrigan, and me.Tom, Jess, and Scott.Cory is our DJ every year. He brings his whole set up and mixes for us...THANKS CORY! "Wooooooo!" Needless to say....Jess had a good time! This pic is hilarious!
Um, things got a little crazy...here is Isaac in his "costume" (underwear and motocross boots)!

Here's to another great Moab adventure!

We missed you Jake and Whitney!

You know you are getting old when...

you look at what is in style for clothing and cringe. We went to see Matisyahu last night at the U of U's Redfest and he was fine and dandy, but I couldn't concentrate on the concert. All I could do was stare at the "kids" and wonder how the hell they packed their junk into those jeans? What is all this Emo B.S.? To me, this look is especially awkward looking on men.

I have come to a realization that for the most part, whatever you were wearing in your early to mid 20's is really what you tend to stick with when you start climbing into your 30's. Is this not true? Well, if these emo men keep it up they may not be able to have children!

Just a little quirky...

I have been tagged yet again. The rules are: to list 6 quirks about yourself and then tag six people. Leave them a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged.

Oh boy, here it goes. Now you all can see how crazy I am and what poor, passive Jess has to put up with! Just so you all know, I inherited a lot of this from my parents!

1. I absolutely cringe when I hear someone eating loud. It is gross and rude! Sometimes I can even hear it in restaurants and once I have detected it that is all I can hear. I can no longer hear you talking to me, all I can hear is the cow sitting behind me! (I picked this one up from my mom)

2. Road Rage...yup I have a BAD case of it. Driving may be the most stressful thing in the world to me, but only because I let every single thing piss me off. And boy do I scream, yell, lay on the horn, and swear. My parents always told me I can start swearing when I drive. I mostly do the screaming when I am alone, but the swearing and flailing is always present (yes, I am aware I probably look like an idiot). Jess asked me if I was going to do that in front of our children. My dad did!

3. I absoultely hate it when there is a completely empty parking lot and someone parks right next to me. And it is usually some huge MAV (mormon assault vehicle) w/ 50 children piling out of it! Same applies for the bathroom when there are a million empty stalls and some dumb ass has to go in the stall right next to me. Are you kidding me? It is called personal space! Jess doesn't understand this one at all.

4. I only shop the sales rack. I will very rarely ever buy something at full price. This applies to basically everything but food of course. I will always head straight for the sales rack at any clothing store. I also clip coupons. Along with this I am also obsessed with entering contests and getting free samples in the mail. A friend at work turned me into a contest-aholic. I have won gift certificates for various things and I just recently won tickets to see Dennis Miller. I guess I am obsessed with cheap/free things!

5. I have to eat at certain times. If I eat lunch too late, then I have screwed up dinner. I love to have all my meals!

6. I dislike really loud people. In restaurants and at work especially. There is a certain team at my work that never shut up! I don't think they even work. And they are so loud headphones don't even cover up the racket! Now I am all for having fun at work to break up the daily routine, but seriously the constant loud cackle is totally inappropriate!

Whew! It feels good to get that off your chest! Now I tag: Casey, Hillary, Zoey, Arien, Katie, and Lindsey.

BYU vs UCLA

Jess's parents have season tickets to BYU football games and decided to give us their tickets for the BYU/UCLA game last Saturday. Jess was pretty excited because it was a much anticipated game. As for me, I am not a fan of football and definitely not a fan of BYU, but I thought it would be fun to go just for the people watching. I just could not bring myself to cheer for BYU (probably since my alma mater is the U of U) so I decided I was going to root for UCLA. Well, I never got to...not even once!! The score was 59-0!! Are you kidding me? It was SAD! Even BYU fans said it was sad!

So I just sat back and enjoyed my caffine free, diet, brown colored water (okay not really, but I think it is funny they don't sell real Coke there. I actually had a snow cone.) and got a headache because the guy behind me sounded like he was yelling through a megaphone right in my ear! This guy was still yelling at his own team for making a stupid move even though they were 50 points ahead! Oh well, at least my snow cone was delicious!

Foodies go to the Fair

It is no secret my family are a bunch of foodies. So when we make our annual trip to the Utah State Fair we always have a smorgasbord of junk food! We started the night out w/:And then it was off to find the fried PB&J's! OMG, these were soooo good!

After that we found some tinfoil dinners...I guess they are not only for camping anymore!

While chowing on the tinfoil dinner, my dad wandered off and found some Pie Pizza. (Note: we did actually share all of these items, so we aren't total pigs!)

Look at my cute parents!

Not pictured are the hamburger, corn, and cherry limeade we also pigged on! Oh and poor Jess, because he had to work.

So Hard to Say Goodbye....

So, this "antique" piece of furniture has been in my family forever! It is a coffee table my parents purchased back in the early 80's from Kmart or somewhere like it. It was basically used as our kitchen table, because my dad and I refused to eat anywhere but in front of the t.v.

Jess and I took it from my parents when they moved out of their house 4 years ago. This thing was beat when we got it...legs had to be glued back on, there is food encrusted on it, and its finish is all different faded shades of wood panel. A few months ago I surprised Jess and bought a new coffee table. He practically threw a fit and said he'd rather have the old one because of all the nostalgia attached to it. So, I compromised and put it in the guest room. Well, I bought some more furniture yesterday and guess what had to go? I was almost in tears as I hoisted it into the dumpster!

Farwell little coffee table, you will be missed!
