Stein Erickson/Rojas boys B-day bash

Sunday we went up to Stein Erickson Lodge in Park City for brunch. They have THE BEST bacon I have ever tasted!

Park City Sunday Silly Market. Jess said he was sick of street fairs, so I guess that means he won't be joining me at the Park City Arts Festival next weekend!

I was trying to get the cool Park City sign in the back, but after 5 self portrait attempts it still never happened.

After Park City we headed over to Buttercup park for the the Rojas boys b-day bash. Gilbert, Tarek, and Oliver all have super close July b-day's. Oliver got to tear into his 1st b-day cake, but of course Tarek had to help a little!

Messy Oliver! He had chocolate cake all over his bum!

Poor Jenny was running around like crazy until she broke into the "bag o wine".

Vinyl Luvin' it!

On Saturday we floated the Provo on double the luvin'! We float the Provo on air matresses quite often, we just never get any pictures. So here are a few:

You can see the Bridal Veil Falls fire in the distance.

Scott, Gence, me, Travis, Jess, and Adam...can't see everyone, but we're all there!

Adam thought it would be funny to ride one of these wild horses...the horse didn't think so.

The boys set up a slack line across the river.

Mikayla was falling asleep and her little head was bobbing all over the place.

Our trusty US postal service

So, the post office lost 3 weeks of our mail! On Monday I went to pick up our mail from the hold I put on it while we were in Thailand and the rude clerk told me she had no idea where it was and that she would have the carrier call me.
Okay...2 days went by, no call. I call them and and the lady was like "Oh yeah, we have been searching for it and just have no clue where it could be." So she puts me on hold forever and then says "Yeah, we are doing construction here at the post office and a wall was accidentally knocked over. We think your mail was under the wall. Let me call you back later."
2 more days goes by and guess what...NO CALL! So, of course I call again today. Another lady non chalantly tells me they do not know where it is. At this point I am pretty pissed and start lashing out. I asked the lady why no one had called me to even give me an update. I asked if they were just too scared to tell me my mail was lost and she said yes, that is why no one has called. Mail just does not magically disappear! So, I guess it is pretty much a lost cause...what can you do? It is not like you can demand compensation!

Memories

As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you (if you already haven't). It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

Some of my favorite pics from Thailand

Here are a few of my favorites:

This is at the JW Marriott in Phuket. Amazing resort!

This is the fish bone Jess got lodged in the roof of his mouth. He was so psyched to get it out!

Grand Palace in Bangkok. Lots of shiny stuff here.

This is the elephant they have on the grounds at the Marriott.

Beer Chang...one of the only 2 beers from Thailand. Gives the worst hangover after drinking only 2 of them. There is actually a website dedicated to the "Chang Over".

This just shows how hot it was! This is Jess after climbing a route in Chiang Mai.

Railay Beach

Jess climbing on Tonsai

Wat Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai

Back of a tuk tuk (motorcycle taxi thing)

Pretty blasphemous...we know.

Had to hit the Irish pub for the Irishman!

On the beach in Phuket at the Marriott

Tonya, Gerry, and me enjoying a beverage at the JW Marriott pool bar.

You think a family of 3 on a motorcycle w/out helmets is bad? Wait until you see the family of 4 w/ the baby smashed in between the adults, a young child on the front of the bike, and on top of all that carrying all their groceries in chaotic traffic!

Just some of the nasty street vendor food.

I swear they did not have school buses. It was totally common to see a pick up truck on the highway chuck full of school kids.

Jess slack lining w/ some of the locals on Tonsai

You can never win the battle w/ sweat. Yes I look disgusting, but for some reason I like this picture!

Cushy kayak tour

So we went on a kayak tour of some of the islands around Phuket. One was "James Bond Island", which was apparently seen in the 2nd film w/ Pierce Brosnan (I wouldn't know, I haven't seen any of them anyway). I felt so lazy, because someone else actually did our paddling for us! But we went in some caves that were pitch dark, so really, it was good we had our own personal tour guide. We had to lay down in some spots where the rock would just about skim your face just to get into the caves....it was so cool! That is us in the kayak behind the Thai guy. We all got pooped and peed on by the bats in this cave. Gerry and Tonya got a complete bat pee shower!

So, the middle formation is the "James Bond" rock. The pic is kind of at a strange angle and we were there for a pretty high tide, so it is hard to tell. I guess Good Morning Vietnam was shot here too (haven't seen that one either).

Gerry wanted a pic of him paddling, so he could take all the credit!

I was so worried about rain, since it is monsoon season and all, but today was the 1 st day it actually poured and luckily it was right as we were headed back from our tour. There have only been 2 other overcast days and it has mostky rained at night. YAY!

Anyhow, we have 1 more day here and then we head back to Bangkok for a few days. Again, more pics to come later!
