Milo's rough weekend...

Our poor baby had a super rough weekend! On Saturday we took Milo and Chaco for a hike up Battle Creek Canyon. On our way down, there was a man with a chocolate lab and a golden retriever playing in the river. The owner saw us coming, but never warned us to pick up our dogs because his were aggressive. So the lab came charging at Milo and had poor lil' Milo's butt in his mouth before Jess could pick him up. Good thing it was not his neck, because that could have killed him! So we finally got away from the chaos, but Milo was crying and yelping the rest of the way to the car because he was so scared.

I felt so bad for my baby, but that was only the start of his troubles! On Sunday, I thought I had a brilliant idea to put Milo in the basket of my beach cruiser...wrong. While I was putting him in, he jumped out and kinda took a hard fall. Jess finally got him situated and he seemed to really like it until he decided to jump out as I was moving. Poor lil' guy took another hard fall. He didn't yelp or anything, but I keep hearing the "thud" over and over in my head. I felt like such a bad mom!

After that, my mom and I were playing ball with him in the house. I bounced the ball and as he jumped for it he slipped on the hard wood floor and did another body slam. This time he got up and looked completely dazed. He even rocked side to side like he had no idea who or where he was! It must have knocked the wind out of him.

And all this was not even the worst of it! We were on our way home and Milo was down on the floor in between Jess's legs on the passenger side when all of a sudden he started screaming! Jess held him still because we were not sure what he was caught on or why he was even yelping. I pulled over and found he had pooped all over Jess and he was bleeding out of the corner of his left eye. By this time I was in tears too! We looked under the dash and found this little hook-like thing jutting out from under the dash. Poor little guy got his eye lid caught on the hook and litterally scared the crap out of him! What a freak accident! We took him home, gave him a bath (more torture), cleaned the poop (that was like glue) out of my car, and then tried to put ice on his swollen eye lid. We decided to take him to the vet if it looks like his eye gets infected.

My poor baby! He is seriously like my child...it pains me to see him hurt.

Reduce, Recycle, Reuse

Happy Earth Day! I really do try to recycle, especially all the water bottles and stupid junk mail, but they just make it so hard to find a damn recycle bin, especially for plastic. I will accumulate a pile that clutters up the house and then just end up throwing it away instead of lugging it to my car to take it to a recycle bin. My parents told me if you throw it all in the dumpster the trash company will sort your garbage and recycle it for you, but I am not so sure of that. I can't wait for my new "green" car!

Goodbye Fairibbean

Today is my last day on the "Fairibbean" team at Marriott. For those of you who do not know, "Fairibbean" is the nickname for the Fairway Villas/Caribbean Vacation Advisor team. I have taken a position in the Technical Support department, so I now deal with all of our internal systems and the website...which means I have finally moved out of customer service, YAY! No more owners complaining about their loans and maintenance fees (people get mean when it comes to their money) and I also don't have to hear about how they did not get the view type they wanted in Hawaii or one of the MANY other things owners can think of to complain about! It is a bitter sweet move, because I will miss my team and I will also not be a part time trainer anymore :(
My team got me a goodbye card and cake and since they know I am always advocating healthy snacks, they also got me a veggie tray.

These are kind of old pictures, but they are all I can find. We always had fun on team outings! This one is at Fat Cats when I first started as a VOA in March of 2005! We are the O.G.'s of the Caribbean team!

This one was taken at Solider Hollow last March. Almost a totally different crew!

Goodbye "FAIRIBBEAN! I will miss ya!

Bouncy Castles/Park City

I have decided to combine posts for my eventful weekend!

So, we had a team outing for work last Friday at Classic Skating. Apparently they have expanded their activities to include huge bouncy castles. I was a bit skeptical at first, because you know they are completely booger and germ infested, but finally decided to just go for it. I was glad I did, because I have not laughed that hard in a long time! It was so hard to stay up! Since we are much heavier than little kids, we actually ended up making "Bounce Everest" topple over!

Poor Jess had to work 12 hour shifts both Saturday and Sunday, so I decided to go to Park City to do some shopping and meet up with some friends for a b-day. We had dinner at Red Rock, which totally sucked ass due to horrible service. We then headed back to Summit Watch (Marriott, of course) on Main Street to get ready for a crazy night on the town...wrong. We were all going to meet at Mulligans for a drink and then decide where to go from there, but apparently everyone was still hung over from the night before, so no one wanted to go out! Christine and I decided to walk up Main to see what was going on at "Scary Ho's" (aka Harry O's), but after finding it was a $10 cover, we decided taking random pictures on Main Street was much more fun.

We had no idea what this thing was, but it is dead sexy and I think I will buy it for Jess for our anniversary!

Jess's Dirty 30 B-day Party

Jess celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday! I had a surprise party for him although he said I ruined the surprise by the way I was acting that day. I guess he knew something was up when I said I wanted to go home and cook him dinner because A) I don't cook and B) our fridge is bare...should have thought of a better excuse. Anyway, he was surprised for the most part. We had the party at our clubhouse in Lehi. Thanks Casey, Bean, and my mom and dad for helping!

Here is the awesome PBR cake! After all the theme of the party was "Dirty 30". The lady who made our wedding cake made this one too!

The girls! Whitney, Lindsey, Corrigan, and me.

Thanks mom and dad! You ROCK!

There can never be a serious picuture when these 3 are involved.

Thanks Trev and Eileen for making the trek out to Lehi!

Husband Tag!

Since it is my husband's "birthday week" I though I would do a post All About JESS!
-What is his name? Jess Cody Johnson
-How long have you been married? 2yrs 9months
-How long did you date? total date/engagement time was 2 yrs.
-How old is he? 29...30 on April 9th!
-Who eats more sweets? Definitely me! Jess prefers a good beer over sweets anyday! Although, a carton of pistachio ice cream did magically appear in the shopping cart last night. I guess when Jess is super active, especially on the mnt. bike, he does crave sweets.
-Who said I love you First? Jess did
-Who's taller? Jess..he is 6 foot!
-Who can sing better? God knows it is not me. I will catch him singin' once in a while.
-Who's smarter? Who is pursuing a medical career...not me! Jess has the brains. He is so good at school. He has a super high GPA.
-Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but Jess will do his clothes sometimes. He won't touch mine, cuz he knows better!
-Who pays the bills? I don't think Jess even knows there are bills. They just magically get paid somehow...so yes, I do the bills.
-Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Jess does...I kinda made him, because that side faces the window and I can't sleep with that light shining through.
-Who mows the lawn? Lawn? That is what HOA fees are for!
-Who cooks dinner? Jess. I hate cooking! He makes an excellent eggplant parmigiana.
-Who drives? Well, at one time we had a pact...Jess drives in Utah County and I drive in SL County. It is pretty equal, but when it comes to being a DD there is a bit of a struggle!
-Who's more stubborn? Oh, that would have to be me for sure!
-Who kissed who first? I think it was pretty much a mutual decision.
-Who asked who out first? We had been hanging out w/ all his buddies, but decided we needed to go on an actual date at some point. That decision was mutual as well.
-Who proposed? Jess on Christmas Eve 2004
-Who has more siblings? Well, seeing as I am an only child...Jess, he has 3 siblings
-Who wears the pants? Um, I am not going to lie...I do. Jess is so passive!
-Now I Tag: Anyone that wants to do this about their significant other since they'll never talk about themselves.

Citizen Cope

I took Jess to see one of his favorite bands last night as an early b-day present. I went to a show last June at The Depot and thought it was good, but I was not sure I wanted to pay to see them again. I am sure glad I did, because Jess didn't get to go last time and this show was so worth it (especially to watch Jess groove to the music)! The band seemed way more into this show than the last one and I actually really like the Saltair as a venue! Anyhow, if you don't know who Citizen Cope is they are definitely worth checking out!

Goin' Green!

Jess and I are going green...and NO, not because we are dirty hippies! We just put a deposit on a 2008 Honda Civic that runs purely on natrual gas. However, since there is a waitlist, we don't actually get it until June.

As some of you may have heard me complain a few months ago, Jess was trying to get me to give in to the idea of a 2000 Chevy Cavalier that ran on natural gas and gasoline. Yes, I was a total snot about it and pretty much snubbed the idea of me driving a crappy Cavalier, BUT I finally gave in and told him to just go find one (as long as we set up a fund for a BMW with all the money we saved!). Well, after long hours of searching on KSL.com and a test drive where we found the owner had turned the odometer back about 40,000 miles, Jess actually thought it may benefit us just to get a brand new, reliable car.

Here are the benefits of our new car:
*$4,000 tax cut from federal and $3,000 from state.

*Natural gas is only 63 cents a gallon, so an 8 gallon tank will only cost me about $5 to fill and will go 170-200 miles. This is amazing compared to the $50 I spend every week!

*I can ride in the carpool lane all by my little lonesome.

*Free parking downtown SLC

*and yes, of course, I am doing my part to save the environment!
One of the cons will be not having the convenience of a gas station on every corner. It is pretty much a commuter vehicle, although, we can still go to CA, we just have to map out our route based on gas stations. St. George won't be a problem.
YAY, no more crappy Cavalier!

Best buddies!

This is Chaco and Milo. Chaco is Milo's dad, who is Jess's sister, Casey's dog. We love when these two play, because they are both so worn out by the end of the day! As you can see, Milo has passed up his dad in the weight and height categories, so things can get kind of rough when Milo pummels poor lil' Chaco! Do you know how hard it was to snap this picture of both of them sitting still!?!
